<h3>A Fully Integrated Prototype Example</h3>
<p>Soft-In and Epicnpoc recently collaborated to provide an Automotive Smart Cockpit demonstrator to a major German Tier 1 supplier. This proof of concept showcases a hypervisor platform running both Linux and Android on various hardware, including a PC, a Raspberry Pi, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon platform. Its modular architecture supports eight different GUIs, including e-mirrors, pillar-to-pillar displays, HUDs, cluster displays, passenger displays, and rear-seat displays. Additionally, the demonstrator features LED lighting, five audio zones, and a digital twin of the cockpit for virtual scene simulation.</p>
<p>The headline from Epicnpoc at this week’s DVN Interior Workshop in Cologne, Germany, perfectly describes the mission of this cooperation: “From SDV to Experience Defined Vehicle: Test and Prove Your Innovation Concepts!”</p>

<p>Horizon provides fresh user experiences in a midsize SUV package. The HMI features magically unveil, 3D graphics content poetically floats in space and HMI feature selection is happening by eye tracking. The entire interaction model is targeting a measurably safe and at the same time pleasureful driving experience. The interior is then transformed into various configurations, all respecting safety and design integrity. The highly comfortable front seats will take a comfortable and relax position while the vehicle is recharging. The passenger seat is equipped with long-range tracks so, in a single movement, it can be positioned in place of part of the rear bench, enabling its occupant to interact fully with rear passengers. Thanks to a furniture like table pod detaching itself from the instrument panel and moving backwards when the front seat is moved backwards, the passenger can also enjoy a dedicated work surface, while broadening their visual horizon and increasing their sense of space. <p>For 2024, BOWL Studio enabled Forvia’s UX design team to take the lead in describing and generating the user experience scenarios.  This is a formidable task during the early stages of the development of a concept car, given that it is a complex experience and there is little to no ability to test and iterate. This empowered the design team by formalizing the demonstration scenario in a way that can easily be shared with the engineering community. Sharing the intention and the expectations around each technology behavior significantly accelerated the convergence timing of the Forvia team.  </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tuito and EPICNPOC announce a collaboration to boost intelligent cockpits with a multi-user voice system. </h2>





<p>After partnering on the execution of several projects for major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, Tuito and EPICNPOC are collaborating to deliver an advanced voice system to enable multi-user interaction within a smart cockpit.  </p>



<p>With expertise in voice recognition and audio artificial intelligence, Tuito’s solutions allow partners to quickly adapt to the sound constraints, lexicons and grammars specific to each application.  The collaboration with EPICNPOC’s BOWL platform will allow automotive clients to experiment with a multi-user Virtual Personal Assistant that enables each occupant to independently interact with the vehicle and the intercom system to interact with each or all occupants.  </p>



<p>BOWL is an experience development platform for project leaders, which combines a set of functional software, hardware, and tools. The platform allows users to easily design, develop, validate and test new cockpit and smart product experiences. The synergy of Tuito’s expertise in AI speech processing and EPICNPOC’s BOWL platform enables the emergence of a smart cockpit with an ultra-personalized and contextualized user experience. </p>

<p><strong>CanControls and EPICNPOC announce a collaboration to boost intelligent cockpits with a user monitoring system.</strong></p>



<p>After delivering many projects together for major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, CanControls and EPICNPOC are collaborating to deliver a user-in-loop system with advanced driver and cabin monitoring functionality. Through video-based features such gaze, facial behavior, heart- &amp; respiration-rate and body-posture estimation, the system will be able to assess the user’s psycho-physiological state and to predict her/his manual, mental and health readiness to drive, addressing the need for intelligent and adaptive road safety products.  This innovative system will incorporate the major trends and new regulations in Advanced Driving Assistance Systems and autonomous driving.</p>



<p>The goal of the project, called ADAVEC, is to productize an authority transfer management feature to mediate transitions between manual and autonomous driving modes for highly automated vehicles, combining a driver-monitoring system with cockpit domain controller features.  The synergy of CanControl’s expertise in AI image understanding and EPICNPOC’s user-oriented software enables the emergence of a smart cockpit with an ultra-personalized and contextualized user experience in addition to ensuring safer driving. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">VIVOKA and EPICNPOC announce collaboration to leverage voice input to enhance human-machine interfaces.</h2>





<p>Today, Vivoka and EPICNPOC signed a MOU to deliver a multimodal HMI development platform by combining voice input with graphical user interface, script recognition, gesture, audio and lighting. Vivoka’s Voice Development Kit (VDK) will be integrated into EPICNPOC’s software architecture and offered in both product and service solutions. </p>



<p>The integration of Vivoka’s technology with EPICNPOC’s open distributed-system modelling and service-oriented architecture allows companies to easily create smart products with secure, multimodal, multiuser interaction. The ability to provide intelligent and safe interactions is a challenge that needs to be addressed on many domains including smart home, retail, and smart furniture.</p>



<p>To launch the collaboration, Vivoka’s VDK is being integrated into EPICNPOC’s BOWL™ Smart Home to power the new research platform for SMART-LIFE at the UCA University in France. The project will deliver a multiuser Voice Personal Assistant.</p>



<p>BOWL™ is an experience kit for project leaders comprised of a set of functional software, hardware, and tools. The kit allows users to design, develop, validate and test new smart home experiences. BOWL™ is now available with voice recognition combined with an extensible set of displays, user recognition, individual audio, script recognition, lighting and open interfaces to home.</p>



<p>The VDK is a speech recognition software specializing in offline voice technologies. It allows companies to easily and quickly integrate speech-to-text, language processing and voice synthesis into their applications and devices. The inherent complexity in the technologies and associated plugins have been abstracted and optimized by the by the Vivoka team through 5 years of experience in VoiceTech.</p>

<p>Today ALKALEE and EPICNPOC signed a MOU to collaborate on a software solution that enables safe and efficient feature integration throughout the development, production and life of vehicles. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">MyScript and EPICNPOC announce their collaboration, leveraging handwriting input to develop a new generation of human-machine interfaces.</h2>





<p>Today, MyScript and EPICNPOC signed a MOU to deliver a multimodal HMI by combining handwriting input with voice, audio, visual and lighting.  MyScript’s technology will be integrated into EPICNPOC’s software platform and offered through product and service solutions.</p>



<p>The integration of MyScript’s handwriting-input framework with EPICNPOC’s open distributed-system modelling and service-oriented architecture allows companies to easily create smart products with multimodal and multi-display interactions. This will make safer and smarter interactions possible in many application domains including automotive, mobility, home intelligence, industry 4.0 and education. </p>



<p>The collaboration will launch in the automotive domain at CES<sup>®</sup> 2021, with the integration of MyScript’s software into <a href="https://epicnpoc.com/index.php/become-experience-maker/">EPICNPOC’s <strong>BOWL™</strong></a> Automotive – an experience kit for project leaders comprised of functional software, hardware and tools. The kit allows users to design, develop, validate and test new in-vehicle experiences. <strong>BOWL™</strong> Automotive is now available with handwriting on a smart surface, combined with an extensible set of 4 displays, user recognition, individual audio, voice interaction, lighting and powered seats. This allows automakers to bring a keyboard functionality to any touch surface while ensuring that consumers keep their eyes on the road. <strong>BOWL</strong>™ Automotive with MyScript’s technology is presented for the first time on EPICNPOC’s booth at CES<sup>®</sup> 2021.</p>
